District Walking Tour April 2008
One to three days easy to moderate walking in the Lake
District visiting areas where the beauty of the mountains can be enjoyed.

Monday 14th April 2008:
Slater's Bridge, waterfalls and caverns
From Elterwater we follow the river to Skelwith Bridge,
cross and head towards Colwith Force waterfall and Slater's Bridge viewing a
well known cavern on the way, before crossing back to Elterwater.
Grade: - Easy to Moderate
Length: - 12 km (7.5 miles)
Ascent: - 400 metres (1,365 feet)
Tuesday 15th April 2008:
Silver How and Grasmere
We climb over Silver How with panoramic views,
then descend into Grasmere passing Wordsworth's homes of Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount,
visit the spectacular Rydal Cave before returning to the car park.
Grade: - Moderate
Length: - 13 km (8 miles)
Ascent: - 560 metres (1,820 feet)
Wednesday 16th April 2008:
Angle Tarn Pikes and Hartsop
From Hartsop a steady climb leads us up to Boredale Hause continuing
to the beautiful setting of Angle Tarn. We then follow a pleasant track with lovely views
before descending to Hayeswater and following the stream back into Hartsop.
Grade: - Moderate
Length: - 11 km (7 miles)
Ascent: - 580 metres (1,885 feet)
